ü ürü üüüü!

November 28, 2009

I seriously cannot believe that everybody other than Turks got this wrong. These guys have no idea how roosters crow:

Danish: kykyliky

Dutch: kukeleku

English: cock-a-doodle-doo (yeah, right.)

Finnish: kukko kiekuu

French: cocorico

German: kikeriki

Greek: kikiriku/kikiriki

Hebrew: coo-koo-ri-koo

Italian: kukuriku

Hungarian: chicchirichí

Japanese: ko-ke-kok-ko-o

Portugese: cucurucu

Russian: kukareku

Spanish: quiquiriquí/kikiriki

Swedish: kuckeliku

Turkish: kuk-kurri-kuuu / u uru uuu (pron: oo-oore-oo)

Urdu: kuklooku

This is where I found all this and they have quite a list there 🙂 : http://www.eleceng.adelaide.edu.au/Personal/dabbott/animal.html

Thanks! I changed it because I don’t blog much these days and tweet instead and this design shows them nicely on the sidebar.

Hope you are feeling better now… but I warned you about Washington D.C., didn’t I?
